Dr. Xin Chen, DMD

Dr. Chen was born in Beijing, China. She graduated from Beijing Medical University School of Stomatology. She worked as a dentist in Beijing for four years after school. Dr. Chen then moved to the US and enrolled at Boston University School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated from a two-year program and obtained her DMD degree in 2006. Dr. Chen has been part of the Friendly Dental team since our opening in 2006. She is very highly regarded and says she is grateful for being given the opportunity to serve and help people.

Dr. Ron Cohen, DDS

Dr. Cohen graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 1999 and completed a one-year General Practice Residency in 2000 at the prestigious Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL. He then volunteered his services for underprivileged patients at Lindsey Hopkins Miami-Dade County Dental Research Clinic in general dentistry/orthodontics. Dr. Cohen has enjoyed working in private practice since 2001 as a general dentist. While enjoying all aspects of being a dentist Dr. Cohen really enjoys time spent on Cosmetic Dentistry, in particular working on Crowns, Bridges and Veneers.

When not in the Dental office Dr. Cohen spends hundreds of hours on continuing education in order to stay abreast of all the new dentistry innovations including new techniques and technology. In hist time away from work he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children as well as playing golf and traveling.

Dr. Maria del Pilar Avellaneda, DMD

Dr. Avellaneda graduated from Bosque University in Bogata, Columbia in 1991 and later returned to the Pediatric Dental Program at Bosque University receiving that degree in 1997. Dr Avellaneda opened her private practice in Bogota in 1992 and worked there until she arrived in the United States in 2000. Dr Avellaneda then studied in the Foreign Program at Nova Southeastern University receiving her DMD in 2006. In the last year of the International Program Dr. Avellaneda was selected as a teaching assistent in the Pediatric department. Dr. Avellaneda has also served as Adjunct Faculty from 2006-2011 at both Nova Southeastern University and the University of Florida. Dr. Avellaneda has spent most of her career focused on providing pediatric dental care and particularly enjoys working on children aged 0 to 8 years old.
